What is a Professional Organizer?

Professional Organizers work with their clients to reach specific organizational goals. These goals may range from organizing a cluttered home office to downsizing an entire home.  A State of Order will develop organizational systems tailored to meet those goals.  We also instruct and coach our clients in long-term strategies to maintain systems that have been put in place.

What can I expect?

We will conduct an initial phone interview to identify your organizational needs.  This will be followed up with a consultation in your home to take an objective, non-judgmental look at your space.  We will formulate an action plan and solve your organizational issues.  Working with you we will set up custom organization, storage, and paper management systems that are easy for you to maintain. 

How involved will I be in the process?

You will be involved every step of the way.  We will be making decisions together until you feel comfortable and are able to maintain the new systems we have put in place.  Your participation is the key to success. 

Are you going to make me throw everything away?

No.  You will be consulted prior to anything being thrown away or donated.  We will encourage you to make decisions on what you want to keep and discard.  We are there to support you.  We will donate unwanted goods to local charities. 

I am embarrassed by my mess.  Should I clean up before you arrive?

No.  We would ask that you resist the urge to tidy up before we arrive.  This helps us to see the nature of your organizational issues.  We are not there to judge you, we are there to help. 

Do I need to purchase any supplies before you arrive?

No.  We will come prepared to sort, purge and develop a plan that will work for you.  Once that has been done, we will determine what types of supplies, if any, that you will need.

What can I expect on my first session?

You can expect results.  We will work as a team to organize your problem areas.  We will challenge you to rethink your old ways and try new systems to stay organized.  We will help you to sort, purge and donate unwanted items.  You will see progress and feel a sense of freedom from clutter right from the start.

Are your services confidential?

As members of the National Association of Professional Organizers, we abide by their Code of Ethics. All services are completely confidential.
